  • Conference staff (NEHA staff, security staff, food and beverage staff, janitorial staff, venue management staff, etc.) will be masked while working with you or around you.
  • The Spokane Public Facilities District venues have achieved GBAC STAR™ facility accreditation and the Spokane Convention Center has achieved Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ accreditation, the industry gold standard for prepared facilities. Under the guidance of GBAC, the Spokane Convention Center has implemented the stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention in its facilities.
  • At registration, we will provide colored stickers that can be added to your badge to indicate your comfort level.
    • Red = No contact

Face Mask

On April 19, 2022, the CDC lifted the order requiring masks on public transportation and at transportation hubs. However, masks remain an important tool for reducing the transmission of COVID-19, especially with the emergence of more contagious variants.

The Washington Department of Health recommends people aged five years and older wear face masks in crowded indoor settings and confined spaces. Please bring your own mask. We will have disposable masks available for you at the information booth, upon request.

Even though masks are no longer required in many places, individuals may want to continue to wear a mask for added protection against COVID-19, including those who are immunocompromised, those living with someone who is immunocompromised, or simply those who may just feel safer wearing a mask. Every individual should assess their own personal risk when making this decision.

Additionally, every person should continue to use COVID-19 prevention measures such as staying up to date on vaccination, handwashing, testing, and staying home when you’re sick.

Vaccination

Per CDC recommendation, full vaccination is strongly encouraged for all individuals attending inperson, as well as booster doses for those who are eligible. Full vaccination is defined as:

  • 2 doses of the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine or
  • 1 dose of the Johnson & Johnson product (or a comparably approved vaccine if you are an international attendee).

We welcome virtual attendance for those who are unable to be fully vaccinated. Those traveling from outside the United States should check for any travel restrictions on your country of origin to ensure quarantine is not required.

Pre-conference COVID-19 Exposure

If you believe you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the last 10 days, have tested positive for COVID-19, or have any symptoms of COVID-19, influenza, or other communicable illnesses, please refrain from traveling and participating in the AEC. In-person registration can be changed to virtual registration at any time, for any reason.

Review CDC’s full quarantine and isolation guidelines for detailed information.

COVID-19 Exposure at the AEC

If you become ill or believe you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 while on site at the AEC, please contact the in-person registration desk or email registration@neha.org and we will provide you with a COVID-19 rapid test kit.

If you test positive for COVID-19 during or after the AEC, please email us at registration@neha.org so that we can notify attendees of their possible exposure. Those who test positive while at the conference should follow CDC instructions for isolation.

Visit the Spokane Regional Health District website for additional details and testing site locations.
